Customer Service Coordinator

The Miami Valley Educational Computer Association located in Yellow Springs, Ohio has an opening for a customer service coordinator on the student software support team.

Job Objective:   Facilitates the delivery of timely and effective customer support for K-12 software applications associated with student information systems and/or library automation.  Assists client organizations with the use of software tools that support the collection, analysis, and maintenance of student data.
 
Qualifications:
 
- Minimum of a high school diploma.  Associates degree in a technology related field is desirable.
- Documented evidence of a clear criminal record.
- Knowledge of computing environments.
- Ability to train and support clients in the use of software systems.
- Proficiency in the use of spreadsheet software. Knowledge of databases is desirable.

Service Technician

The Miami Valley Educational Computer Association located in Yellow Springs, Ohio has immediate job openings for service technicians.

MVECA Service Technician Job Objective:  Helping client organization maintain and repair workstations, printers, and various network devices. Troubleshooting workstations and network hardware and identifying parts and supplies needed to repair problems encountered by the client organization Installs and repairs network wiring. Identifies network related problems. Ensures good network performance. Installs, maintains, and configures workstation software. 

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience and/or technical aptitude that meets the needs of the client organization.
  • Expertise in PC and MAC applications.  Ability to train adult learners with diverse job responsibilities and computer application skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical individuals.
  • Strong communication/interpersonal skills.
  • Documented evidence of a clear criminal record.
  • Goal-oriented, career-minded.
  • Cisco certifications appreciated.

Technology Intern

The Miami Valley Technology and Communication Group (MVTCG) is now offering paid technology internship opportunities that are part-time or full-time and geared toward college age students interested in developing a career in a technology related field.

All interns must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid driver’s license and access to transportation, and be able to pass a criminal background check. Hours are flexible, and successful interns may have opportunities to continuing careers with MVECA. 

General responsibilities include assisting MVTCG and/or school district personnel in providing technical support for workstations, network devices, software applications, and all associated peripheral devices while working with end users to help promote an effective learning environment.

- Experience with current state fund accounting and payroll applications.

Position Overview
The Network Engineer is responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining network and security technologies that support MVECA and its client organizations. This role ensures reliable uptime, strong security, and high-quality service delivery across a wide variety of networks and environments.
The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter with excellent communication skills, the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical users, and a dedication to outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and technical expertise in delivering network support services to client organizations
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network switching, routing, LAN/WAN systems, and firewalls
  • Maintain datacenter equipment, virtual environments, server operating systems
  • Implement and maintain network security measures and industry best practices
  • Coordinate installations, upgrades, and repairs with districts, vendors, and telecommunications providers
  • Monitor bandwidth usage and network performance to identify and resolve issues
  • Prepare documentation, project plans, reports, and inventories
  • Order, test, and validate equipment for deployment
  • Maintain professional certifications (CCNA or CCNP)

MVECA Technology Coordinator Job Objective:  Plans and implements strategies to enhance staff and student use of technology resources.  Promotes an effective, technology-enabled learning environment. Maintains technology implementations and equipment.
 
Qualifications:
Minimum Associate’s Degree in computer science or equivalent work experience, degree work in education or instructional technology preferred.
