SIS Support Specialist

The Miami Valley Educational Computer Association has an immediate opening for an SIS (Student Information System) Support Specialist.

SIS Support Specialist Job Objective: Provides support, training and associated services relating to the Frontline Student Information product.
 
Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of computer environments and ability to train and support clients in the use of SIS applications 
  • Knowledge of current SIS usage in schools
  • Proficient in the use of word processing and spreadsheet applications
  • Proficient in office protocol, data entry, spelling, proofreading, and the correct use of grammar
  • Multitasking ability and strong communication/interpersonal skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical manuals and documentation
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concept to non-technical individuals
  • Ability to conceptualize, evaluate, prioritize, and solve complex problems
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
  • Ability to establish working relationships with co-workers and function as part of a cohesive team
Other desired qualifications:
  • Documented evidence of a clear criminal record
  • Meets all mandated health requirements
  • Associates degree preferred and/or high school diploma with equivalent experience
Salary commensurate with experience. 260 day employment contract.

Service Technician

The Miami Valley Educational Computer Association located in Yellow Springs, Ohio has an immediate opening for service technicians in the Greene County region.

MVECA Service Technician Job Objective:  Helping client organization maintain and repair workstations, printers, and various network devices. Troubleshooting workstations and network hardware and identifying parts and supplies needed to repair problems encountered by the client organization Installs and repairs network wiring. Identifies network related problems. Ensures good network performance. Installs, maintains, and configures workstation software. 

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience and/or technical aptitude that meets the needs of the client organization.
  • Expertise in PC and MAC applications.  Ability to train adult learners with diverse job responsibilities and computer application skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical individuals.
  • Strong communication/interpersonal skills.
  • Documented evidence of a clear criminal record.
  • Goal-oriented, career-minded.
  • Cisco certifications appreciated.

Technology Intern

The Miami Valley Educational Computer Association is now offering paid technology internship opportunities that are part-time or full-time and geared toward college age students interested in developing a career in a technology related field.

All interns must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid driver’s license and access to transportation, and be able to pass a criminal background check. Hours are flexible, and successful interns may have opportunities to continuing careers with MVECA. 

General responsibilities include assisting MVECA personnel in providing technical support for workstations, network devices, software applications, and all associated peripheral devices while working with end users to help promote an effective learning environment.
