Converting 20/20 files to Microsoft Excel

On a DOS Machine

 

 

Things to Remember:

Macros will not transfer

Some functions may not transfer

 

    1. Open the 20/20 worksheet you want to convert.
    2.  

    3. Press /Store, Export, External, select option 2 (1-2-3 V2), choose Everything,
    4. Type in the file name and then press return. Select the range, press return.

       

    5. Exit 20/20.

 

4. Go to Setup menu, and pull down to File Transfer. Make sure that protocol

is set to Kermit and make sure that the Packet Size is set to 50, click OK.

 

    1. Type Menu at the $ prompt.

    3. Type Kermit and press return.
    4.  

    5. Type Send "filename" and press return.
    6.  

    7. Go to File menu and pull down to Receive File.
    8.  

    9. Make sure protocol is set to Kermit and make sure the bullet is next to non-server.
    10.  

    11. If you want to change the file name, change it here and then click ok. File transfer is now in progress and a box will come up in the upper right hand corner. Once the graph shows 100% complete, the file transfer is complete.

    13. Close the file transfer box and type Exit at the Kermit prompt.
    14.  

    15. Open Excel and go to File, and pull down to Open and select the file you just transferred.

 

Things that may happen:

 

Gridlines turn off. If you want to add them back in, go into the Tools menu and pull down to Options, select View, click on Gridlines.

 

Text imports into Excel in Blue. If you want to change the color, highlight the text, go to Font Color button and select the color you’d like.
