Schools have long been a target of cyber-criminals and have found themselves increasingly under attack to start the year. According to the Breach Level Index by Gemalto, a global data security firm, the number of cyber-attacks aimed at schools more than doubled in the first half of 2017. The results of Gemalto's study indicate that the education sector ranked 3rd among industries in terms of successful attacks which resulted resulted in the compromise of roughly 32 million records. These trends have begged the question, "What can be done to protect against this rising threat?"

Please join us for a presentation by Matthew Gullickson of Arthur J. Gallagher's Cyber Liability Practice aimed to address the data-security perils schools are facing on a daily basis. This event will be hosted by the Hamilton Clermont Cooperative, Miami Valley Educational Computer Association, and SouthWest Ohio Computer Association.

During this presentation we will review:

  • Data breach exposures and loss trends
  • Information security best practices
  • Coverage available in the insurance marketplace
  • Cyber insurance costs and steps to formally obtain coverage

Arthur J. Gallagher will be providing attendees with pricing indications for a cyber-liability insurance policies and reviewing how a policy can assist in protecting your organization and ensuring you are prepared to respond to a cyber-attack.
